I got the ballot papers today. I guess the face of the new United Kingdom’s government is destined to be in my tiny hands. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA…. *evil glint in eyes* I shld juz vote for the Conservatives. Not only because they are called the Conservatives, but also because they …ah… sent me a brochure of their aims if they win a few weeks ago. Hmm… yah, that shld do it.

**Being a legal UK resident who is over the age of 18, u can vote for a political party of ur choice if u registered as a voter in time.

I didn’t even vote in my own country and the very first time that I get to vote is in a foreign country that had to fish votes from foreigners who juz happen to be in this country 9mths of the year, trying to import knowledge back to whichever third world, uncivilised country they came from. (Partly because the last time there was elections going on, I was still a minor.)

Hmm……Heh!

It strikes me as funny coz they don’t like the truckloads of foreigners in search of a better future for their families, calling them “pests” and/or worse, “immigrants”. And now, their political future is placed on the many of us who is here to study, work or whatever… Legally, of course.

To some, I’m still an immigrant in my own country. I can’t say much now on this point coz I aint got the time and I don’t want to care to elaborate on this right now. This does not concern us here, at this point.

This got me thinking about POWER STRUGGLES. Even in the basic relationship between a man and a woman, there’s an on-going push-pull factor to see who will be holding the control-stick and who’s being the controlled. What is it about power that is so intoxicating, so alluring that ppl want it so much? Does it mean that by controlling ur man’s freedoms and movements he is all yours and thus, u have all the power in this relationship? Doesn’t anyone think there shld be a give and take in a relationship anymore?

I definately prefer a balance of the two.

Although in most parts, I am considered to be more of a traditional conservative coz I want my man to be in charge and in turn, I be the one behind him, to support his every endeavour. But of course, it still doesn’t mean that I wld let myself to be a pushover. Both parties shld be complementing each other; what one lacks, the other brings into the bond. (This is one piece of advice I gathered from a “very wise old man” and thought abt for a few years now. He is making more sense everyday! Damn him.) Also, that I wld like to be consulted on serious decisions that wld affect the both of us instead of him doing his “manly veto” whenever he feels like it not unlike my good ol’ papa. (Some might say he is a lucky man. I’d say he juz found the right kind of woman. My ma is too tame and docile of a person to revolt. Never trust her with ur secrets too! She is sleeping the enemy a.k.a. my pa…hahhhahaha)

Maybe this is also why I’m voting for the Conservatives. (Never mind that I don’t fully appreciate their political agendas… It’s also a good thing to vote for the underdogs. Hard to envisage them winning unless there’s really a lot of ppl hating Blair for the Iraqi War.)

Well, Michael Howard, u got ur one vote here… whatthehey.

Or shld I go for the Liberal Democrats? Hmmmm
